Where is the serial number on a Gibson Mastertone RB 250 banjo?

My grandfather Heraldry sinister me a Gibson RB 250 banjo. He purchased it in 1983. I shared a backseat with it on the drive to several summer vacations, but I am unsure if he bought it new.

I am a bass musician(jokes are welcome). I am not as familiar with banjos as bass/guitars. I don't know where to find the serial number. I am inquisitive of it's value, but more about when it was made.

I will never sell it, but I am considering insurance. My guitars are decent, and the value is adding.

Any advice on the serial gang location, and online resources for determining this banjo's year of production would be greatly appreciated.
