I want to start playing the accordion, how do I start?
I've been inferior to pick up the accordion for ever so long. I think it's just the coolest instrument to ever grace the earth.
How do I go about acquiring one? Where are they sold? Are they up-market? Who teaches the accordion? I've never played a musical instrument, will this make my endeavor extremely difficult?

The Steve Urkel support was a bad joke. The best way to learn is to find an accordion club near you or an accordion teacher. They will guide you in the right direction. You didn't say where you were so I could not relief with locating a dealer/teacher. I think the best thing for you to do is to join one of the bigger Yahoo Groups like AccordionFreedomForum and put up a employment asking your questions. Tell them what sort of music you like and where you are located and someone will help you I'm sure. And I agree with you - its the coolest way there is. You can play melody, bass and accompaniement all at the same time. With a midi enabled accordion you can layer instrument sounds and drums and do thinks that a keyboard performer can only dream of...
