Where can find a cheap bass guitar and amp?

All together I'm looking for something at least under $300. Under $250 would be prodigious. And something other than Guitar Center.

a considerable end bass though a cheap amp will sound like crud
a low end bass though a high end amp will sound better.

Go look though MF or guitar center and find a starter bass...around $200 or better yet, hand-me-down on ebay as guitars and other instruments are better when used. Then find a deal on a nice amp.

I've done Froogle and Ebay..... ebay doesn't have any cheap bass guitar amps, but froogle had one that was $25. i solely want to know- what am i looking for?
i mean, the day 10watt, 50 watt, etc. with EQ and effects, volume control....
agh!
choices!

I decent want to know- what's the cheapest amp I can get for my 4-string 20 fret pink bass guitar????
If it had volume control, that would be nice so I don't get in in a pickle with my mom (lol)but the guitar has volume control, so....

and I want a cheap one, too.... less than $100 if possible....

so any product recommendations would rock.

or if you could just notify me what I need to be looking for.... like, does it matter how many watts? do i need a mic plug-in and CD thing?

I am sooooo disoriented and I dont wanna spend $$$$$ on something I can't use!

If you are a beginner and are flourishing to be playing in your room, 30W is enough for a bass guitar amp. Don't expect it to work for live shows though.

The mic/CD/aux ports are good, but not necessary. Most of the amps you'll find will have at least two EQ knobs.

The truly is, the more expensive, the better. This is especially true of audio equipment. You can get a decent 30W amp for about $80, although you should think about getting the most superbly you can afford right now so you don't regret your purchase later. Better equipment has better resale value too, so regard as of it as a good investment. Look for brands such as Fender, Laney, Peavey, Yamaha, Marshall (my favorite).
