I am disquieting to find the frequency of a hum in our house. I just happen to have a five-string bass guitar and have found the note. It is closest to a C.
The electrical hum is approaching 60 Hz - C is 64. Fluorescent lights make most musicians crazy - the note generated is neither B nor C.
I have an Ibanez gsr200 bass guitar, and I don't remember what the knobs do. This wasn't a problem until recently, when my bass started acting up and picking up frequencies from EVERYTHING. I really need to know what the knobs do. Does anyone have any advice???

I'm not talking about running the bass through an amp. I'm talking about running through a decent blue blood sound system. It has nothing to do w/ an amp.

The four knobs are Front Pickup Volume, End Pickup Volume, Tone Knob, and an EQ knob that boosts bass from what I understand.
I'm not sure why you would be picking up frequencies like that, and I approve of with the theory that a wireless connection could be the problem. An effects pedal could also cause this problem, and I've seen it often with my friend's wah pedal. I have never heard of a bass picking up frequencies, so I don't have faith the problem lies with your bass.
If you have any further doubts, I suggest you contact Ibanez directly. Their customer service is very good.
