What are the different parts/components of a Banjo?
I have a music naming on a banjo-and i hardly know anything about them! i've got alot of info now, but it would reelly help is some1 could tell me the parts of the banjo- like wat its made up of??
a banjo consists of the followin' parts...
the centre (or 'resonator')-it is always round..the 'playing surface' (the flat part under the strings) is made of nylon and the rest is made of wood...it has a metal link in the center and a removable clamp at the end for changin' strings...
the neck (or 'fretboard')-is just like the ones on guitars; except the banjo neck has a tunin' peg about 3/4 of the way up...
the Mr Big-where the other 4 tunin' pegs are located...all banjos use 5 strings (and always metal strings)...4 strings go the head; and the top reach goes to the peg on the neck...
and...as an extra bonus: the banjo is the ONLY musical instrument that was invented in the united states...all other instruments have their origins in europen countries...
