Is the banjo minnow bait worth buying?
Feb 10, 2009 by SmoknHot | Posted in Fishing
I was idea of ordering some for my hubby for Valentines Day, and I was wondering if anyone had used it, and if you have let me know if its worth it! thanks
I have acclimatized the banjo minnow and its good but not the best bait. If he's fishing for bass the banjo frogs are killer! I'm not sure if they come with the banjo minnows or if they are a analyse product.
I'd recommend checking out Berkley's new line of Gulp-Alive. You can get them in just about any style. They are an artificial bate with memoirs-like action and even more life-like scent. Like many artificial baits its not just a one time buy they at the end of the day get worn out and have to be replenished.
Only difference between Gulp-Alive and the banjo minnows is they come in a jar of liquid (scent) which if you were a fish its like a marinated steak vs. intelligible flavorless. Fish love it!

Hope this helps.

or is theree anything beter?
The Banjo 006 Minnow is a actually great lure. Remember that what you see on TV isn't really the whole truth.....Editing for the win. Anyways from my own personal experience I find this entice amazing and the guy who invented it really thought hard and put his life into this lure. This lure is special in more then one way. The action that you can sire is amazing...That's just it though this lure isn't your everyday rapala. What I mean by that is that you can't just throw it in the water and reel it back in and reckon on to catch a fish. This lure has absolutely no action if you do that. You got to wiggle your rod, give it random jerks and do a combination of both and pauses between your jerks and all that respectable stuff. If you don't catch fish with this lure you'll be entertained by gaining the skills needed to catch fish in the coming and you'll feel good about your self even if you don't hook a fish. Does it catch fish? Of course it does and lots of them. It fitting takes time to master the action. Now will it catch fish every cast? Nope it sure won't. This lure will be one of your favorite lures you throw off in the water. Catching fish isn't just about a magic lure it's about weather conditions, water clarity and air/saturate temperature and selection the correct lure and color. The Banjo 006 Minnow kit gives you a wide selection of evaluate, and colors so when something isn't working throw something else in. Use the 30-60 minute rule and change out the color every 30 minutes to and 1 hour. I've caught fish off this tempt when everything else failed me. I fish a heavily fished place where we have a small lake at a local park here in Orange County, CA and it's restrain and release only. The fish that I fish have been caught over and over again. They are wise to lures. That's why I bought the Banjo 006 Minnow because it would be a lure that they've never been caught off of before. So it's been working for me. If you fish an space that doesn't see a lot of fishing...Let me tell you that I guarantee that you will catch a lot of fish with this lure. Really even your old lures would catch you fish. The amount of fishing that occurs in the lake/river you fish has a lot to do with how many fish you'll hit. I say buy the lure, take it out and see what happens. It's only 19.95+ Shipping and handling it'll be the best 26 dollars you've ever spent and You always have something new to throw at the fish. I delight this lure and I fish it every time I get a chance. It really does work, but it also depends on conditions and the fish you are fishing and how much they get fished. Keep that in belief and I hope you are a happy with this lure as I am. Good luck!
