What is a good amp setting for Heavy Metal Bass Guitar?

I have a Crate bt50 amp and an epiphone thunderbird, i enjoy oneself in a metal/thrash band. whats a good setting for my bass?
the knobs are as follows

Low
Low Mid
Hi Mid
High

Level&Master.

Hey, no savvy with Epiphones nor with the amp you have, but here are my Behringer 1200BX Amp settings as Heavy/Thrash metal bass player:

Low || +6 (Max)
Low Mid || +4
High Mid || -4
Treble || +2

This in combination with my Ibanez BTB

The preoccupation is, what do you like? And also, do you play with a pick? The sound is different with a pick. Do you like the deep bass sound or maybe more a crunchy rugged (like Exodus' bassplayer).

Heavy metal bass guitar?

I go on the blink with my fingers. How do bassists play so damn fast in heavy metal bands such as lamb of god or chimera with those really fast licks of at most the open string played for 8 notes? im trying my hardest to learn with 3 fingers doing tripalets but its freekin straight man, is there any special technique im missing? or is it just a matter of how much i practice?

Lamb of God as well as most metal bands use picks. It gives them a heavier rugged as well as a better speed. I use fingers as much as I can but some songs that I play I either (unfortunately) can't pluck fast enough without a pick, or the sound that you get from using a pick fits the flap better. Dream Theater and Black Label Society are some bands whose bassists don't use picks, and Pantera and Lamb of God are some who do. You can mind for yourself and tell the difference. But yes, practice always helps.

I'm glad to finally see some bass questions! Good luck man
